Norwa Africa showcases sustainable water technologies at the Hotel Expo

Norwa Water Solutions is showcasing innovative water treatment, purification and solar-powered pumping systems at The Hotel Expo, highlighting sustainable solutions for hotels, businesses and communities.

Norwa Africa is among the key participants at the fourth edition of The Hotel Expo, showcasing water treatment, purification and solar-powered pumping technologies aimed at helping businesses and communities secure reliable and sustainable access to water.

The exhibition, taking place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), brings together players from across the hospitality and related sectors, providing companies with an opportunity to demonstrate technologies designed to improve efficiency, sustainability and service delivery.

Norwa Africa, which has built its operations around water and sanitation solutions, is using the expo to highlight its range of technologies for households, commercial establishments and institutions.

Speaking through its exhibition team, Commercial Director Jeremy Muturi said their main mission is to support sustainable development by expanding access to affordable water treatment and pumping solutions while strengthening the continent’s water, sanitation and hygiene ecosystem.

“Empowering futures through water is central to the company’s vision, we focuse on improving quality of life through access to affordable and sustainable products, ” he said.

Expanding access to clean water

Muturi said their products have reached more than one million people across Africa, while its operations have expanded to include water treatment, purification, pumping and solar-powered systems.

The company which has more than five years of experience, over 45 international partners and a portfolio of more than 120 completed projects.

Its customer base includes households, businesses and institutions seeking alternatives for treating, storing and accessing water, particularly in areas where conventional water infrastructure remains unreliable.

The company has also supplied thousands of products and supported projects designed to improve water access and management.

At the expo, Norwa is positioning its technologies as solutions for the hospitality industry, where reliable water supply is essential for hotels, restaurants, accommodation facilities and other businesses.

Focus on sustainable water treatment

Norwa’s portfolio includes reverse osmosis systems, whole-house tap filtration and ultraviolet sterilisation technologies designed to improve water quality.

Reverse osmosis systems can be used to remove dissolved impurities from water, while filtration and UV technologies provide additional treatment options depending on the quality and intended use of the water.

The company also provides commercial water solutions, including water vending machines and industrial water-softening systems.

For businesses operating in the hospitality sector, such technologies can help address water-quality challenges while supporting more efficient management of available water resources.

Norwa also provides borehole equipping and rehabilitation services, alongside solar-powered pumping systems.

The integration of solar energy into water pumping is particularly relevant in areas where electricity supply is unreliable or where reducing energy costs is a priority.

Building climate resilience

Norwa Africa says its long-term objective is to contribute to more climate-resilient communities by expanding access to sustainable water technologies.

Climate change is putting additional pressure on water resources across Africa, with droughts, changing rainfall patterns and growing demand increasing the need for efficient water-management systems.

Against that backdrop, the company is seeking to promote technologies that can help households, businesses and institutions improve their ability to access and manage water.

Its approach combines water treatment with renewable-energy-powered pumping, providing customers with solutions that can operate with reduced dependence on conventional electricity infrastructure.

Norwa says it wants to play a role in transforming Africa’s WASH entrepreneurial ecosystem while expanding the availability of technologies that support a more water-secure future.

Supporting the hospitality sector

The Hotel Expo provides a platform for Norwa to engage directly with businesses that depend heavily on consistent water availability.

Hotels and other hospitality facilities require water for drinking, food preparation, laundry, cleaning, sanitation and other daily operations. Water interruptions or poor water quality can therefore have significant operational and reputational consequences.

Norwa’s commercial systems are designed to address some of these requirements by providing businesses with options for water treatment, purification, softening and dispensing.

The company is also seeking to demonstrate that water sustainability can form part of wider business-efficiency strategies rather than being treated solely as an infrastructure issue.

Looking ahead

Norwa Africa says it intends to continue expanding its portfolio of sustainable water technologies and partnerships across the continent.

With more than 2,500 products in its portfolio and more than 125 projects completed, the company is targeting further growth in a market where demand for reliable water solutions is expected to remain strong.

Its participation in The Hotel Expo comes as businesses across Africa increasingly look for technologies that can combine water security, energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

For Norwa, the objective is to position water technology as a tool not only for improving access to clean water, but also for supporting resilient businesses and communities.

The company says its broader ambition is to help create a future in which African communities have dependable access to water while businesses can adopt affordable and sustainable technologies to meet their growing needs.
