Mohamed Salah to leave Liverpool at end of the season

After years of remarkable success and unforgettable performances, Mohamed Salah announces his departure, leaving Liverpool facing a defining transitional period ahead.

Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, the Premier League club confirmed Tuesday, marking the end of one of the most successful eras in its modern history.

The 33-year-old Egypt international announced his decision in a video message shared on his social media platforms, saying he wanted to inform supporters early out of respect and transparency.

“Unfortunately, the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell,” Salah said. “I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.”

He described his connection to the club as deeply personal, saying Liverpool had become more than just a team during his time at Anfield.

“I never imagined how deeply this club, this city, these people would become part of my life,” he said. “Liverpool is not just a football club, it is a passion, it is a history, it is a spirit.”

Legacy defined by goals, trophies and consistency

Salah joined Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017 and quickly established himself as one of the club’s greatest players.

He has scored 255 goals in 435 appearances, making him Liverpool third-highest goalscorer of all time.

During his time at the club, Liverpool won the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup and League Cup titles.

Salah also won the Premier League Golden Boot four times, highlighting his consistency as one of Europe’s most prolific forwards.

Despite his achievements, Salah final season at Liverpool has been marked by inconsistency and broader changes within the squad.

Liverpool tactical evolution has shifted towards a system that favours central attackers, limiting Salah natural role on the right wing.

Salah departure signals the end of a defining chapter for Liverpool.

“We celebrated victories, we won the most important trophies, and we fought together through the hardest times,” Salah said.
