Kenya is reinforcing its position as East Africa’s leading healthcare distribution and trade hub as preparations gather pace for the 10th edition of World Health Expo (WHX) Nairobi, scheduled for 16 – 18 September2026, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
The highly anticipated exhibition is expected to bring together thousands of healthcare professionals, manufacturers, distributors, policymakers, investors, and innovators from across the globe in a major showcase of medical advancements and business opportunities within the region’s rapidly expanding healthcare sector.
The event comes at a time when East Africa’s healthcare market is witnessing remarkable growth, driven by stronger regional trade corridors, improved cross-border supply chains, and increasing demand for quality healthcare services. Kenya’s strategic location and well-established logistics network continue to make Nairobi the preferred gateway for healthcare commerce across the East African Community.
Now in its 10th edition, WHX Nairobi, formerly known as Medic East Africa, is being held under the patronage of the Ministry of Health and is expected to attract more than 5,500 attendees, with nearly 40 percent arriving from international markets. More than 200 exhibitors from over 30 countries will showcase the latest innovations in medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, digital health technologies, laboratory solutions, and healthcare infrastructure.
Speaking ahead of the event, WHX Portfolio Director for Healthcare, Tom Coleman, said Nairobi has become the meeting point where manufacturers, distributors, hospital groups, and policymakers forge partnerships that strengthen healthcare delivery across East Africa. He noted that as regional trade continues to improve, the Kenyan capital is increasingly serving as the centre for business collaborations that enhance access to healthcare products and services throughout the region.
Beyond showcasing innovations, the exhibition is expected to accelerate investment, strengthen procurement networks, and improve supply chain efficiency by connecting global suppliers with regional buyers and decision-makers. As East Africa continues to rely significantly on imported medical products and technologies, Nairobi’s expanding logistics capabilities position Kenya at the forefront of healthcare distribution across the region.
Visitors will explore eight major healthcare sectors, including medical devices and equipment, imaging and diagnostics, laboratory technology, healthcare infrastructure, orthopaedics and physiotherapy, digital health solutions, healthcare services, and consumer healthcare products. The diverse exhibition aims to promote innovation, technology transfer, strategic partnerships, and improved access to quality healthcare.
With thousands of industry stakeholders expected to converge in Nairobi, WHX Nairobi 2026 is poised to shape the future of healthcare procurement, investment, innovation, and distribution across East Africa while further strengthening Kenya’s reputation as the region’s leading destination for healthcare business and medical advancement.
